Come along to GovJam Shrewsbury and work through a whole design process in one weekend. The Global GovJam is an annual event which takes place over a weekend at different locations all over the world. It brings people together to collaborate, play, create, innovate and test new ideas around a common theme (which will be kept secret until the start of the Jam on Friday evening) to help make public services better. You might be a service designer, an academic, a customer, a student, a customer experience person, a UX guru, a patient, someone in the customer frontline, unemployed, an actor, an artist, a doctor, or a grandparent – but whether you’re experienced or completely new to the field, you won’t just be talking about service design, you will be working with others on developing concrete ideas and designs for services which could become real.
At the Jam you’ll learn more about a person centered design-based approach to problem solving, as well as picking up a load of new ideas and work practices. Jams are a great place to meet likeminded people in a relaxed, but focused environment. Your work and ideas will be reviewed by your peers, and presented to the world – who knows where that might take you? One thing is for sure you’ll have a great time.
So if you’re interested in public services, and have an open, enquiring mind we’d love to see you at the next GovJam Shrewsbury event on the 17th to 18th May 2017.
